Lancaster Knives, Inc. was founded in 1896 by Andrew Cant. It has remained a family owned business for 5 generations and is privately held. We started out making machinery and industrial knives primarily for the woodworking industry. We currently manufacture knives for industrial cutting, slicing, peeling and shearing. Additionally, we manufacture machine ways, wear plates and other machinery parts. Our service department can sharpen, custom grind or recondition most industrial knives and parts.

The company has earned a reputation for manufacturing the highest quality and best performing knife in the United States.

Lancaster Knives, Inc. is the last full line domestic machine knife manufacturer of our type. Our quality and delivery edge have helped us maintain this industry leadership. In 2005 we undertook a pollution prevention project resulting in an investment of over $1 million in new equipment. The project upgraded heat treating, machining and grinding operations.

Lancaster Knives manufacturing facility is located on a 244,000 square foot lot in Lancaster, New York, approximately 12 miles east of Buffalo, New York. The current president of Lancaster Knives, Scott Cant, is a direct descendant of the original founders. Our sales force is strategically located in the U.S. and travels internationally to support international sales. Our manufacturing personnel has combined experience of over 100 years. This expertise continues to benefit customers in terms of improved operational efficiencies in grinding and manufacturing as well as providing the highest quality knives. Lancaster Knives maintains a customer service department to support our sales, manufacturing facility, service department and warehouse. We currently utilize distributors to service portions of our wood industry customers. Additionally, LKI continues to search for opportunities to serve new and existing markets and improve on existing products with better materials, new technology and design and engineering improvements.
